The Spot is six private acres at the edge of Smith Rock, surrounded by open desert, ancient cliffs and more sky than you know what to do with. There are no shared spaces, crowded lobbies or neighbors outside your window. Just one thoughtfully designed house, one group at a time, and room to settle in.
Wake up with the rocks glowing outside. Spend the day hiking, climbing or wandering the property. Come home to the hot tub, gather around the fire, and watch the desert disappear into darkness. Then look a little farther through the telescope at Asterisk Observatory.
The Spot is close enough to adventure that you never have to plan too hard—and private enough that doing absolutely nothing feels like the right decision.

Life at The Spot
Three bedrooms, six guests, one entire retreat.
The Spot is yours from the moment you arrive. Three comfortable bedrooms, warm modern interiors and generous shared spaces give everyone room to settle in without feeling spread apart. Cook together, open the doors to the patio, put on a record and make yourself at home. There are no shared amenities, neighboring guests or hotel schedules—just one house, one group and all the privacy you came for.
WANDER
Six acres between the cliffs and the open desert.
Step outside and see where the day takes you. Follow the paths through native grasses, circle the pond, watch birds move across the property or find a quiet place to sit with Smith Rock in the distance. The land feels open and untamed, but never empty. It invites wandering without an itinerary, giving you room to explore, breathe and notice things you might normally walk past.
Gaze
Your private window into deep space.
When the sun disappears, the high desert reveals an entirely different landscape. The sky becomes dark enough to see more stars than most people remember exist, and Asterisk Observatory brings distant planets, nebulae and galaxies into view through its 17-inch telescope. Spend the evening learning what is overhead, or simply stand outside and let the scale of it all make everything else feel a little smaller.
Do Absolutely Nothing
Hot tub. Fire. Chill. Repeat as necessary.
Adventure is optional here. You can spend the entire afternoon in the hot tub, move to the fire when the air cools, then wake up and do it all again. Read beside the pond, take a nap in the sun, make a drink and watch the light change across the cliffs. The Spot gives you plenty to do, but its greatest luxury may be having nowhere else you need to be.
